Before the first device is deployed, define the question the pilot must answer. Examples: Is coverage good enough in the relevant zones? Are alerts useful to staff? Are events acknowledged quickly enough? Does the wearable fit normal work?

Five measurement areas

• Device availability: Are wearables reliably online and ready?
• Alert quality: How many alerts are genuinely useful?
• Response time: How long from alert to acknowledgement and resolution?
• Adoption: Do the people who own escalation actually use the system?
• Implementation effort: How much setup, training and support is required?

The commercial outcome

A paid pilot should already have a clear rollout option. If agreed criteria are met, the next commercial step should be ready rather than starting from zero after evaluation.
